Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY; born 17 March in 1988) who is also known professionally as Grimes is an Canadian musician and singer/songwriter and record producer. There are many styles of her music from the beginning has been called "lo the fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has included elements of hip-hop electronic music, as well as rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes in her songs. Grimes has recorded five albums. Grimes was born in Vancouver, and then moved to Montreal around 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion at the beginning of 2000. two albums came out by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in the year 2010. The following year, she joined 4AD and gained acclaim with the release of the third album of her studio, Visions that was released in 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". The album was awarded the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. After this, her fourth studio album, Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received reviews of praise, as numerous publications named it the best album of the year.
